Peterborough Pride Parade

Dublin Core

Title

Peterborough Pride Parade

Description

Local residents march in the Peterborough Pride Parade, which has been celebrated in town since 2003. Pride events are held in honour of the Stonewall Riots that took place in New York City in the summer of 1969. The riots began in response to continual police raids on gay bars in Greenwich Village. The spontaneous uprising sparked a movement that continues to fight for equality today.
